North Woods Golden Light is a fully curated storytelling content retreat featuring shoots along the shores of Lake Superior and at a luxury lakeside home in Superior, WI in the peak of the fall foliage season. This retreat is designed for wedding and elopement photographers and videographers who want to build their editorial portfolio and are seeking professional mentorship, guidance, and networking to further build their skills and business.

When I started Betty's Love and stepped into the wedding industry, I found my people. Over the last two and a half years I've coordinated and collaborated on styled shoots alongside talented photographers, and somewhere in that work this retreat took shape. Fully curated concepts, real mentorship, and the kind of creative community that actually moves your business forward.
Meet Your Mentor | Heather Hanson
The Feisty Atelier with 17 years of wedding and editorial photography experience. Heather will be woven throughout the entire weekend. Opening each shooting day with education, tips, and technique. Then checking in one-on-one with every photographer to give personalized direction and feedback. You won't be just shooting alongside her, you'll be learning from her.
As a seasoned wedding photographer with a background in professional journalism, Heather approaches each celebration with intention and empathy to capture every honest and timeless moment.
